Requirements
Installation of SQL Source Control™ 2003 requires the following:
  • Microsoft® Windows® 95, Windows 98, Microsoft Windows NT® version 4.0 (Service Pack 6 or later), Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
  • 10 MB of free disk space, 100MB or more recommended.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 or later runtime, .NET Framework SP2 highly recommended. *)
    Please note, that Visual Studio.NET is not needed by the application. If you don't know, what .NET Framework is, please read this article.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later.
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Client components on workstation.
  • Microsoft Visual Source Safe 6.0 Client components on workstation.
*) Does NOT require Visual Studio.NET. Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 runtime is a free Windows add-on. If you have ever used VB6-based applications, you have had to install VB6 runtime. This is a similar situation - because SQL Source Safe 2003 is a .NET application, you have to install .NET runtime.
