Manage Database Items

Database items are the connection elements you work with in SQL Source Control™ 2003. These are:
  • tables
  • views
  • stored procedures
  • triggers
  • functions
They are accessible through Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, Triggers and Functions treeview nodes, under each Connection in Connections group.

Create, Edit and Remove database items

By double-clicking selected database item in a treeview you open its MDI window, containing SQL code (Design tab) and Documentation (Documentation tab).

When item is checked out, you may edit its code, taking advantage of easy to use SQL code editor, that features full syntax color coding to improve the readability of complex statements. It also features all needed editing functionality:
  • unlimited Undo/Redo
  • Cut/Copy/Paste clipboard access
  • Find/Replace with regular expressions support
  • line numbering (decimal, binary, hex, octal)
  • show white space
  • go to line number
  • automatic line indent
  • automatic language keywords case correction
and many more.

When item is not checked out by you, you may preview its code, but you are not allowed to make any changes.

You may create and edit existing tables in your database directly from SQL Source Control.

This feature allows you to:
  • create new tables and edit existing tables
  • manage table columns and columns properties
  • manage indexes
  • manage relationships
  • manage constraints
